"I enjoy working at LCA very much. LCA provides a positive environment of professional collaboration that allows teachers to work together to ensure the growth of each child. Teachers are also continually challenged to improve instruction while being supported by our deans. This type of environment makes it a joy to come to work each day to see and work with our colleagues as we strive to provide the best education that we possibly can. We are a school committed to challenging each child to achieve. LCA is truly a great place to work!"
Mark DeJong, 5th Grade Teacher
"I’m honored and blessed to be a part of the Lansing Charter Academy Team. To me the word T.E.A.M. means “Together everyone achieves more.” Here at LCA, I can truly say that we work as a great team together. Our team members consist of students, faculty, and staff, coming together to make each other better. LCA fosters a loving, nurturing, and safe environment that “Challenges each child to achieve.” It is a fact that every great team needs great leadership to achieve greatness. Our principal “Chris Thompson” is a proven leader who has an excellent track record of success. I am very proud to be a member of the LCA team. Go All-stars!"
Jonathan Walker, At-Risk Teacher
"As a first year teacher, it has been such a blessing to work for Lansing Charter Academy. At LCA students are challenged daily at their specific learning level using a rigorous curriculum. Teachers like myself build plans to fit a variety of learning styles and collaborate with students to make learning worthwhile, interesting and fun. I feel excited everyday to come to school and teach tomorrow’s leaders. I truly feel a sense of community from the staff and students. LCA offers a variety of engaging extracurricular activities including art club, basketball, soccer, tech club, guitar club, boy scouts, girl scouts and after school tutoring programs. Parents can be sure that their students are well prepared inside and outside the classroom for the road ahead and will be ready to succeed in higher education institutes. Our first year has been an exciting one filled with opportunities that will help create a better future for the Lansing community!"
Rebecah Baker, 4th Grade Teacher
"I am now well into my first year of teaching Kindergarten at Lansing Charter Academy. My students and their desire to gain wisdom is why I love to teach. Watching my students progress and growth over time is what makes my job so rewarding. I am proud to be a part of such a great team of dedicated teachers, administrators, and parents. The committed parents and volunteers that work alongside us have helped to create a spirit of community within the walls of LCA. I love being a part of the team because my job is meaningful, challenging, and exciting. Working closely with such inspiring people to meet a common goal is what makes my job so much fun!"
